Hey fellow dog lovers!

It's Matt from BigPawShop.ca, and today I'm excited to share a homemade peanut butter dog treats that's always a hit with our dog, Lucky.

As a proud dog dad, I always look for ways to show him how much I love him and what better way to do that than with a tasty and healthy treat that I made with my own two hands?

I'm all about keeping things simple in the kitchen, and this recipe is no exception. With just a few basic ingredients, you can whip up a batch of delicious and wholesome treats for your pup that will have them wagging their tails in excitement. So grab your mixing bowl and come bake with us!

Here's what you'll need to make our Simple But Amazing Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats:

rolled oats is one of the main ingredient of these dog treat cookies

  • 1 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of warm water

Wait a minute, can my dog eat that?

Whole Wheat Flour

According to the AKC, yes, under most circumstances dogs can eat wheat and other grains.

Rolled Oats

According to The Healthy Journal, yes, dog’s can eat milled, rolled and steel-cut oats but avoid instant oats!

Creamy Peanut Butter

Dogs can eat peanut butter as long as it is fed in moderation and does not contain xylitol, so get out that pet-safe peanut butter jar!

Baking Steps

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, and peanut butter until well combined.

Step 3: Gradually add the warm water, stirring until a dough forms. The dough should be sticky, but not too wet. If it's too wet, add a little more flour until you reach the right consistency.

Step 4: Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut the dough into your desired shapes. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.

Step 5: Let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your furry friend. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
